Consistent with the vision of its founder, Maria Clementine Martin, Klosterfrau has always been committed to supporting its hometown and the people who call Cologne their home, and is therefore making donations to those in need again this Christmas.
Klosterfrau has had close ties to the city of Cologne for 200 years. These deep roots are reflected in its diverse social commitment to art, culture and people. Taking on local responsibility follows the example of founder Maria Clementine Martin, who helped people in need. It is particularly important to think of others during the Christmas season, as Christmas stands for solidarity and compassion. The festive season makes privileges more visible and reminds us how valuable it is to show humanity. As a sign of support, donations can not only actively relieve the burden but also give hope to those affected. Klosterfrau has been supporting the “Arche” for many years with regular donations and targeted campaigns. In particular, the annual Christmas campaign ‘Christmas in a Shoebox’ collects donations such as warm clothing and non-perishable food. In December 2025, the symbolic cheque for this year's donation was handed over to the “Mülheimer Arche für Obdachlose”.
For several years now, Klosterfrau has been donating not only to the Arche für Obdachlose e. V. (Ark for the Homeless) in Cologne Mülheim, but also to the Tafel Köln (Cologne Food Bank). Together with other Cologne-based companies, Klosterfrau has also enabled the “Tafel Köln” to purchase a refrigerated truck, which now travels through North Rhine-Westphalia with the well-known nun logo, saving food. This year, Klosterfrau is also supporting Straßenwächter Köln e. V. for the first time, an organisation that provides homeless people in Cologne city centre with warm meals, clothing and human contact, and campaigns for greater visibility and dignity for those affected.
